My Transformation

Here’s a little about me. I was a chronic fad dieter.  I would try anything and everything. I had been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 13 years ago, my nutrition was poor and I experienced flare ups. It didn’t help I was putting more poison into my body getting HCG shots to lose the weight.
2012 I came to my wits end. I knew I had to stop, but was so exhausted. Didn’t know how or where to start.   A 40 pound weight loss for myself started with a simple thought… “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.”  With two demanding careers, and a three kids, going to the gym just didn’t fit into our schedule or our budget.  I purchased Insanity and pushed play every day for four months. I started to live and breathe health. Eliminated foods that were not good for me, incorporated exercise that I would do from home because I was way too shy to exercise at a gym-specially being overweight.  Slowly but surely regain my confidence, stamina, and started feeling good in my own skin.  Literally became a brand new person.
I remember feeling lost, scared and looking for hope it was nowhere to be found.  Through a series of events I talk openly about through my journey, I realized it was my life’s passion to give hope. My career and my passion are now one.  My job is to give hope to others and help them find their purpose through helping others.
I am the CEO of my own business partnered with a company called Beachbody, as well as founder and owner of  Ivy Johnson Wellness. In 2013, right after I left my full-time career as an accountant  so I could help other women, like me, find themselves! I am my own boss, I make my own hours, and I can sneak away at any time to hug my babies without having to touch a time clock.  Daily I surround myself with people who inspire me.  I wake up knowing that I am making a positive impact on the world.  It changed my body, it changed my income, and it changed my mindset.

Today I find myself rising above a  new obstacle. Learning to live with an autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s. By far, this diagnosis has been a blessing. I have gained some weight because we’re still in the process of calibrating my HRT meds, going through hair and energy loss,  but have gained so much respect for my journey.  It has taught me that in life we are not exempt of new challenges, specially when we feel that we have already conquered so many.

Every day I wake up with the determination that my illness will not define me. That there will be days when I feel like I am drowning, but there are many more that I can push myself beyond the surface.
